Climate change and Biodiversity - Erasmus project

In May 2022, we visited Riverland Bio Farm located in the village of Kampia. This trip was made during the Cyprus mobility.  Riverland Bio farm is an  organic farming farm, animal breeding facility, producer of organic products, and offers  various recreational activities. Additionally, the farm houses the first and only fully organic  greenhouse in Cyprus. In the farm, we had a tour from the owner about the farm facilities and then we tasted fresh and bio vegetables from the greenhouse and tried fresh homemade ‘halloumi’ and other organic products. We had the chance to see animals in the organic farm and feed them. We also had lunch with bio and organic ingredients. Later, we had a great time walking in the farm, playing ball games and do archery! It was an unforgettable day to remember!

One theme of our project was to respect healthy lifestyle and prefer outdoor activities during our project in schools and within mobilities. We wanted to learn to respect nature more and more. Many trips were made under this theme: hiking, paddling, swimming, biking and playing in all four countries. In this project we also made the questionnaire for seniors and young people of this topic. We also studied the migratory routes of the birds and how climate change will effect to those and we also measured outdoor temperatures and compared them to the temperatures before. Some test persons also made the carbon footprint tests and noticed that using  climate friendly transport, for example bike or feet, to go to school, work or to business would reduce carbon footprint effectively.
